I found that if you get the Scosche GM1598B dash kit you can install the pocket in the top position instead of the bottom. This lets you place the radio lower so that when it opens it doesn't block the vents, only the switches below them. Not a big deal for me, if I need to get to the switches I just close the screen for a minute and then open it again. I love not blocking the vents anymore!
