My HHR Ideas Please
My HHR Ideas Please
So far I got a 7.5" flip out in the dash, and two 7" monitors in the headrest. I want to add two more headrest monitors, and a backup cam. Anyone have any ideas for the back up cam. Also I got Two Rockford 12s coming tomorrow, two rockford 500 by 2s, a set of rockford components, and a set of rockford 3-ways. I looked for captain howdys post of the how to, but the link doesnt work for me. If anyone can help me out with that sometime before tomorrow at 3 it would be appreciated. I did ran all the wires today and it was pretty easy, so im hoping the door panels are just as easy. I want to add a set of 6x9s in the back hatch. Ill post pictures of my setup when its complete. This forums has been a help. Also id appreciate any other cool mods I can do, so far my exterior is pretty plain. Im more of an auido visual guy. If I can get the funds and the resources I want to add a 27" LCD in my back window, so people can watch it when I drive, and have it flip down when the hatch opens. If anyone knows some good seat covers that look natural thatd help to, I worked at a State Park this summer, and had to drive home dirty everyday. THANKS
By Sci-Fi I meant like Subs, Speakers, Amps, TVs, all that good stuff that makes your car fly. It can also be described by my favorite saying: "I Have More TVs in My Car Then Most People Have In Their House's"
I'm more of an exterior mod type person...the stuff people can see when you drive down the road or park the vehicle. Not big on interior gadgets as I have no real need for them and find all that stuff distracting for the driver. Now if I had small kids and needed to keep them occupied with something, I would probably feel differently.
I installed a rear-view camera on my Suburban as part of an audio/video setup with a custom console, VCP, DVD player, mobile PC, and a flipdown LCD monitor for the rear passengers.
For the camera, I installed a flush mount "bullet" type camera in the rear hatch by drilling a hole in the hatch. The camera just inserts into the hole with a nut from the inside and seals with an O-ring. This camera has a series of infrared LEDs mounted beneath the lens so it would illuminate the area behind the vehicle for the camera without using visible light.
Other ideas for the backup camera are the license plate frame with camera, camera that mounts to the inside of the hatch glass, or a camera ,mounted in the center brake light.
There are some pretty good deals on camera at:
