thinking about ordering this head unit... do you guys know if it will be able to power the speakers more adwquatley? i think the problem is that the speakers arent getting enough power, i have the basic stereo no sub in the rear. i dont want it to be tremendously loud i just want it to sound GOOD

Just my 2 cents, but I'd stay away from pioneer. You can wind up with the dreaded "whiney noise" due to the fact that they don't have a very good internal chassis ground. Also look into a 40 watt RMS or so amp for the door speakers. Check out my gallery to see where my amps are located. It's not really that big of a deal to run rca leads from the new HU back to the amp and then speaker wires from the amp back up to the head unit. You CAN keep the stock HU and just buy an amp. Because the problem is not nearly enough power to the speakers (and besides, the stock HU is set up for 8ohm and you are running 4ohm speakers now) That is the real root of the matter. A good place to reference car audio is at "the12volt.com". Just join the "install bay-members forum". It doesn't cost anything, and you get tons of info.
FWIW any "whiney noise" can be corrected/deleted with an inline noise filter. I had the whine (though barely audible) with my HU. A Filter for the right channel only (weird, I know) fixed it.
