Throwing in some new Infinity speakers throughout the car and some new tweeters!!

What amp are you going to run them on?

and how are you going to mount them?

I am going to get some components but was unsure how to mount them in the stock mount

I don't want to cut anything either

 

Adapters to mount them.

Factory amp to power them. Putting an amp on speakers will only make them louder it doesnt change the sounds or add any mid/bass to them.

Im just wanting good clear sound not crazy loud.

They sound SOO much better!

 

You know I'm pretty happy overall with the Pioneer system. I can't see putting any extra money into the stereo but I would love to change the headunit out to a DVD unit. That's probably going to be my next big purchase...maybe sometime over the summer.

 

I just did this. $80 for clearance Boston speakers front and rear and $25 for open box Sony tweeters and the sound is definitely better! Well worth the $105 upgrade!

Let me know how this turns out. I'm thinking of adding at least one for my daughter...don't really need two although I know two looks better.

 

hate to break it to you, but a high pass amp will make the speakers (tweeters ) clearer

They dont /make/ the speakers louder - that part is controlled by you and partly the gain on the amp.

The factory amp /might/ be good enough but i would ditch it.

I bet that factory amp barely does 20w rms and i doubt its got decent circuitry. Chevy isnt exactly a specialist in car audio

Also, try turning all the bass off from the bead unit. It makes the stock tweeters much clearer.

If you want bass, install a sub woofer or 6.5" woofers that have a frequency response of 20-30hz and up

The stock mids and most mid range drivers have a frequency response of 65hz and up usually.

They seem to only come in pairs. Only wire that has to be run is the power and some manufacturers give you a ciggarette lighter adapter you can use instead of hard wiring it to your fuse box. All the FM modulating and head phones are wireless!
