New Years project
New Years project
I spent the time I got off for New Years including the extra day for Pres. Fords funeral building a new sub enclosure. It is a sealed enclosure aprox. 2 cubic feet in volume. Holds 2 10" Kicker CompVR's with duel 2 ohm voice coils. I am running each woofer's voice coils in series and the 2 subs in parallel, creating a 2 ohm load. The old school Orion HCCA 225 amp I am running uses a bridging module which cuts the 2 ohm load into a 1 ohm load(the amp is 1/2 ohm stable).I have to hook up my 8" CompVR. I just have to find a place to put a 3rd amp. I wanted to be able to put the rear mat in the back and load it up if I wanted too. I also wanted to keep the spare and that too was accomplished.

Here you can see all 3 subs

I need to trim the front lip of the box so that it fills that gap in the front.

This shows the embossed Kicker emblem.

And oh yes, it pumps out the bass.

First off... That is kickass. Congrats.
Now for some q's, lol... It looks like there would be plenty of room to put 2
12" subs in the same place. The only thing is the sealed enclosure. How much extra room did you have to add to the enclosure (if any)?
Also, where did you stash the amps?
Again, it's awesome.

I still need to find a place to mount a amp for the 8" that is in the stock location.
Wow - that's freakin' amazing! That is EXACTLY what I've been planning to do, I just haven't found any examples to rip off. Is there a tutorial in the works? Or at a minimum, some suggestions for those of us who want to copy you? What material did you use for the whole thing - it looks awesome!
I hope to do something similar in the future, I'm just waiting for ideas because I, too, want to keep my spare and make it look professional.

I used the tray as a templet for the top of the box and made a templet for the bottom using poster board. Measured the mounting depth added a 1/4 inch to let the bottom of the speaker breath.
