Any news with your PAL issue? Mine is still happening. I absolutely hate it. Sometimes it's a problem I have to deal with when I start the car. Other times, it happens long after I get on the freeway(which is a bad time to fiddle with the radio). I thought about removing it myself. I think this might be a voltage problem for the XM. A buddy suggested I install a toggle switch to bypass the PAL when not is use. I might rig something up for a test. If it doesn't help, I'm gonna Give GM Parts Direct an earful. I could find a lot of other things for the money.

You need a reprogram. See the following thread.

The latest that I know on the PAL issue. As of October 24 - GM has released a fix for the PAL problems (going to XM 0, Flipping to XM 1 [iPod], then making an irritating "screeching noise", etc.). The fix is a software/firmware update. Your dealer needs to order a new PAL setup. When they get this in - they will merely swap the PAL module units. I know that they are currently back ordered, but my dealer has ordered one for me. Per the dealer - GM will fix all of the PAL's whether they are still under warranty or not.
