Please help!

Ok I bought a jvc double din head unit and the wire kit from scosche gmsr13 and I got pretty much everything hooked up right and my radio or tuner signal is really bad now, I used the Chrysler antenna adaptor, now I read to connect the blue/white wire from the head unit to the pink wire on the car, but when reading wire colors for my 2010 hhr nothing matches for example it says the right rear speaker wires are blue and tan, well mine are blue and light blue, and I'm 100% positive on this, and this is a standard system no amps, and I see two pink wires in the car harness, one with black stripe on it, now does having onstar change my wire color setup? Where can I find the right schematic? None of the wire colors in the guides online match my actual wires, I have the two connectors instead of the 24pin connector, everything works except the radio signal anyone have any advice???

I wonder if the "Chrysler" adapter in your Chevy product may be part of your issue.

You did state that you have a "2010 HHR" which is a Chevrolet product.
I googled "scosche gmsr13" not one match. http://www.google.ca/search?q=scosch...ient=firefox-a

You didn't post what JVC product you are playing with.

If you don't have a friend that plays with car audio. I'd suggest doing more research if you really want to do this yourself.
For starters get the correct adapter for your Chevrolet. On the package they usually saw which vehicles are supposed to work. Some model years change connectors within a brand.
With any audio products I have installed the destination and polarity of the wires is way more important than colour.
Have a look at the speaker end of a given set of wires to find out which is + and which is - . Make a list if you have a short memory.
Then go through the manual for the head unit and the harness and make sure the front right for example goes to front right all through the chain of connections. For any other input and outputs the same goes.
Just follow the chain and be sure that + and - and innie and outie stay + and - or innie and outie stay the same through the chain.

Just like people colour don't matter. What matters is destination when following someone.

The product is scosche gm13sr and the Chrysler antenna adaptor is the right adaptor I researched that, the head unit is a jvc kw-r500 and when you say don't worry about wire color, I would have to tear my entire interior apart to follow the wires, wire color/number is extremely important at least in my 8yrs as a mechanic, but i never dealt with car audio as I have been a crane mechanic, and when you troubleshoot electrical you rely on accurate schematics which include wire colors and or numbers

The pink wire leads to the factory pigtail clip. The new scoshe harness will plug into that plastic clip, see where the pink wire connects from the other side, I believe it's mate is dark blue. But it will not be pink on your aftermarket harness, only that of the factory oem harn.

I said

Now that he has posted the correct part number our friend Google found this:

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...c=6&zmap=15123

and I also found the pdf of the manual for his head unit

http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/0...T0791-002A.pdf

I still think having a Chrysler part in your Chevy may be a troublemaker.

Well according to those sites and the manuals I have installed it correctly, hmmm I was even weary of the Chrysler adaptor too, but I've read about others who have used the same part, I dunno I'll have to mess with it But thanks

The Chrysler Antenna adaptor is the correct part. GM has been using those antenna adaptors all the way back to the cavalier using a DCGM09 radio harness. The problem that you are running into is probably the radio itself. I installed a Alpine INA-W900BT in my 2010 LT and the radio sucks. If you installed the radio correctly and everything functions properly then its probably not the part. If the radio is an HD radio you may be getting a weak signal which would cause a "fade out" of the signal. The tunner is probably the issue more than likely, not the parts.
