Since this is your first car I take it you are a youngin so just here is a little info for ya :)

While what you are wanting to do is possible it isn't "normal" or practical. It isn't even hard to do but it is not something that most WOULD do :)

Having said that, since you had a sub laying around, do you happen to have an inverter laying around? It's worth asking. LOL The cheap $25 inverters may not work but the $50 ones should and if money is tight and you can get your hands on one, what the heck... give it a shot! Here is what I'm talking about...


Something like the above should work for the sub you have and if you or a friend have an inverter laying around, sounds like a fun project for you to play around with until you get the funds for a "real" setup :)
