Question on the factory sub box...

I currently have an JL Audio 8w0 in the factory sub hole, but was wondering if anyone has had any experience with a 8w3v2 in the stock hole...would like to hear from other people who have used other speakers than jl as well...whats the deepest sub i can use without using a spacer as well ?

I have a 8w3v2 in the stock location, but I had custom box made at Al and Ed's in Huntington Beach Ca. Check in the members rides section under my name and you can see pics of my install if you want more info email me.

Thanks

Does it fit in the stock box, do you know ? How does the 8w3 sound in your box, pretty good i would assume. My 8w0 sounds okay, but it still needs a cleansweep or something to that effect.

Talking

With spacers it will work. I didn't want the woofer to be out in the hatch area. Mine sounds great with all the dynomat they installed it is clear and has tight bass no rattles or other noise. I wanted my system to look as close to factory as possible, other than the head unit (Avic-Z1) and the custom sub grill my system looks stock and none of my cargo space is used, My spare tire is still in the car and accessible. The plastic floor tray installs over the amps with the carpet.

Well, i went ahead and got me a 8w3v2, a spacer template, and a cleansweep to help the factory signal get strengthened. Will take pics of install when done...hope it sounds good.

I have a JBL 8" installed with a 3/4" spacer between the speaker and the box, and a 1/2" spacer between the speaker and the grill. It pushes the factory panel out about 1/2" but looks fine and sounds great with a 500W amp driving it (I have an aftermarket head unit driving the amp).

Im sure you can put a 10 in the factory box with modification, but you lose airspace putting a bigger speaker in there. Id rather have more airspace and a smaller speaker, than a bigger speake and less airspace.
