quick tech question...

I just recently installed my jl audio 13.5in woofer (13w1v2), and then i got a jl audio 500.1 amp to push it. Now it bangs pretty good, but for some reason the starts cutting out after about 5 mins of about midrange playing level. My system is hooked up with a line converter, 4guage power and ground wires. Ground wire is about 8-13inches, so i dont think its a ground problem, anyone else have some helpful insight, thanks....

Here's the specs on the amp:

http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_amps.php?amp_id=252

And the specs on the sub:

I dont think its a problem of the sub or amp. But since i used a line converter, i wonder if it has anything to do with the stock amp seeing this increase in amps and freaking out and cutting out to protect from overheating which its not, ive checked the stock amp many times to ensure its not blistering hot, its usually just warm to the touch, not hot.

doesn't sound like overheating is the problem, and i use a line converter on my set up, never has shut off. I would track all of my wiring and make sure a connections are nice and tight. if you used any butt connectors make sure that the are nice and secure. My friends HHR had loose butt connectors for the audio signal and caused his to what your describing.

I'll double check tomorrow and re-crimp all connections to make sure their good and tight and let you know how it goes. I wouldn't think with my setup it should be doing this ? But you never know, its all the small **** that gets you...
