Radio Didn't Come On

So today I got into the car, started it, and started down the driveway. Then I noticed the radio wasn't on. Completely dark, no clock or anything. Pushed the button, and then it came on like normal. Has anyone else had this happen? It wouldn't really bother me since it's never happened before, but I'm just wondering because every once in a while my mom's G6 will do the same thing....

I've had this happen too. I was sitting in the driveway to the house and had the key off listening to a song. Well after 10 minutes, the car turned off like is should and I went inside. Next morning, I came out and had to hit the power button on the radio to get it to come back on. This is the only time it's happened and the only time I was in the car with the radio on without the key being in the ignition.

Well at least I'm not alone. Only thing was I hadn't sat in the car like you before hand. Who knows with all these electrical components in cars now....

I just bought my HHR, its an 06 LT and the radio doesn't come on. The clock does, but the radio/cd player does not come on. I wonder if its just a fuse, or if something else is wrong. I'm having my step-dad look at it tomorrow (he works for a Chevy dealership in the service dept), but if he can't figure it out I'll take it back to the dealer and see if they can fix it. They should be able to, right? I bought it without a working radio, but its out of warranty so does anyone know how much it costs to have the dealer fix a broken stereo?

plastikfear. Your problem sounds like an internal radio problem. If the fuse was blown you wouldnt see the clock.

More than they are worth. Pull the radio fuse, wait 30 seconds or so and put it back it. If it doesn't reset, buy an aftermarket or a GM off of the internet I bought an AM/FM CD/XM for $100 from LKQ parts off the internet.

Eric, I think when the radio does this is like a PC locking up and needing a reboot. My wife's Tahoe has done this twice in 13 months and fixed itself by turning the vehicle off both times

Good luck with the fix and hope you dont have to spend money to fix this problem. Although it could be a good excuse for a radio upgrade.
