Rear subwoofer wiring

I recently purchased a 2010 HHR. I just found out that some models come with a subwoofer in the cargo area. Unfortunately, mine wasn't one of the. I am looking to install one. Is the wiring already there or am I going to have to run wiring to it?

Welcome to the site and the family.

As for the wiring, I don't think that is something that is just left hanging in there if there is nothing for it to be tied too. I would think it's going to have to be aftermarket wiring and OEM sub.

Ok, thanks. thought maybe all vehicles used the same wiring harness and they just left a plug hidden behind the trim panel.

That may be the case. I very well could be wrong.. But that's what I would think about it.

It's a powered sub too...... so there is an amp involved (not a huge one, but.... Yeah!) This setup came with the 7 speaker "premiere" system which is a different head unit too. Also there's no sub box behind the plastic if you didn't get that system, so there will be some fabricating no matter which way you go with that.

Thanks for the reply Greybeard, but that is not what I wanted to hear. You are now officially crossed off my Christmas card list...
