turn to station 0 or 1 on XM and it reads out the ID. I believe that station also tells you what to do to activate it.

Hmmm..I have the CAT button, but I guess the actual Module isn't installed? When I hit the CAT button it just says XM feature.

Could be that it's just not activated. That's the message I get when hitting the CAT button on my XM ready unit.

Right, my understanding is you have an XM ready unit..without the module...but the stereo is set up to control it, and then you have XM units with the actual module factory installed.

I don't think all of the stereos are XM ready(i.e. don't have the CAT button) so in that case you would have to use a transceiver since it isn't supported natively. *I think*

But the reason I brought it up was someone said to go to a certain station or something to get your ID....well I can't do that because when I push the CAT button, it just says XM feature...it doesn't do anything else...so I don't know how to get my ID.
