SiriusXM radio while keeping stock look

I know I’m definitely not the first one to ask about this, and I probably won’t be the last. I have a 2008 LS model, with a base level radio in it. Would it be possible to add in a radio that is Sirius-capable? Maybe even using a later model years radio?

Yes and you’re gonna need the antenna and have the radio programmed to your HHR , it’s much less complicated to get a Sirrius adapter at Wally Smart it Crutchfield

Or, go to anywhere that sells Sirius and get an adapter.

I know it’d cost more to keep the stock look but I’m fine with that. I prefer a cleaner looking setup

Get an after market SiriusXM-ready radio with GMlan adapter and the $39 Sirius adapter. Drill a hole in your roof for a shark fin, run the antenna wires through the headliner. Then everybody will think it came from the factory.

Interesting. I’ll have to look into that. I already have one of the shark fin antennas.

If the car has a sharkfin with a small mast on the rear roof you probably already have it. Look for U2K on the glovebox label.

Reviving an old thread, but a few friends of mine went to one of the local junkyards to look for an XM-
compatible radio. Anyone know anyway to tell if the radio is XM-compatible without taking it out?Someone told me to send the sticker inside the glove compartment, also.

Is that sticker from your car, or a junkyard car?
