Speakers do not always work... Help!!!

Having an issue with the left-side speakers not always working.
Most of the time the left side speakers do not play any sound with the exception of the tweeter in the A pillar. Every once in a while they will work. When they do, they're perfect. Right side is fine.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for your help.

Please use the search tool. There are way too many threads about this issue already, at least 3 this month.

You probably need to replace the speakers.

Here is my story on stereos and speakers.

I'm having the same issue in my '06 HHR even with replacement front door speakers. Oddly, my wife's Saturn Outlook (GM) is doing the same thing. Left front door speaker intermittently working. Usually I can get the speaker to temporarily work again in either car by quickly turning up the volume way up and then back down to normal levels.
I'm guessing it may have something to do with the stereo itself and not the speaker?

Yes more likely the radio in your case. I have heard of having the radio rebooted sort-a-speak fixing this. Basically having a tech reflash the bcm as if you had installed a new factory HU.
