Speed or Sound
OK,OK.
This has been somthing that has erked me for a while so I would like to throw it out there for discussion.
I think it was the fast and the furious movie that did it but people want to put on turbo's, intakes, exhaust, etc to go fast. Then they add 75 lbs of MDF, 50 lbs in speakers, 100 lbs in dynomat, then they take out the passenger seat to save weight??? Go figure.
Please Discuss......

Your right about the way they protray that in movies. But someone that is only in for the "timeslip" will have it stripped down and could care less about the rest.

omfg..i wish to holy sweet god that whoever made that movie would die or was never made...
since that stupid ass flick was made, every moron with a POS civic, some kind of hatchback or thier moms carrolla with those stupid mufflers thought they were fast

What got me was the scene, I think in the second one, where the black Civic is under the semi, accelerates BWAAH..BWAAAH..BWAAAAH, it's up two gears and still going the same speed as the truck! What does this say about the competence of the expected audience?

No "ten-second" car is going to have all that crap on it. People don't even realize what the term power-to-weight ratio means anymore.
