If its the sub where the spare tire is I'd leave it raw. Its going to be covered anyways.

I am still very interested. I am going to try a shallow 8 inch in the stock location to see how it sounds. Now I have a 10 inch inside a tube. I get great bass (gain on amp set as low as it can go, and head control at -2). I am still using the factory amp until I get a chance to change it. But the bass is very strong, loud, and shakes the car. I do not want to lose that, but I would like to get rid of the big tube!

I dont car if the speaker, or entire panal, sticks out a little bit-as long as there is enough clearance to open the bottom panal.

Has anybody looked into mounting a sub in one of the storage bins? You might be able to get a couple of 6's in there. Some of the space-saving subs that claim to have great bass use the 6 inch subs.

Im working on a flush floor mount where the spare tire is right now. Its going to have an amp rack up near the storage bins and an 8w7 in the center well. Im going to flush it right beneath the plastic shelf that way if I wanna haul something I can lay that over the amp and sub panel.

2 problems for me with that. First, I like having the spare there. I considered putting it over the spare in the storage compartment, but I use it plus having a speaker grill sticking out would prevent me from putting things on the floor. But, in the smaller bins...
