Try more like a grand! I had a buddy that deployed his airbags and it ended up costing him like $2500 for both the driver and passenger sides.

I can't figure out how to take the airbag out for the life of me. I'm not afraid to take it out, but I just couldnt find the screws to do it. the plastic for both sides are just held in by one screw. If you move the platic over a little you can see the screw down in there about 2 or so inches.

I'm also interested in adding the steering wheel controls. I looked at the airbag removal situation to see if I could see anything. At the hub of the steering wheel, from underneath, there are two small (1/8" diameter) holes at about 4 o'clock and at 8 o'clock. Maybe these are holes for an "airbag release" tab or something similar. It's really frustrating to not have release of the factory Helm manual yet. I always buy the factory manual for my vehicles because I do a lot of mods, and Helm said they will E-mail me as soon as the manual becomes available. Meanwhile, a friendly dealer service department would probably let you look at their copy ( I have done this before).

I poked around some more last night and saw what your talking about, but still no idea how to get it off.
