Hi All,

I have an 07 2LT with ebony cloth seats. I want to put in headrest dvd players but have only found ones for sale with leather. I want to stick with the cloth. I have found just the players/monitors available on ebay and was wondering if anyone has done a custom install.

Not on the HHR, but did on the wifes van.

Monitors

DVD player, not sure where on the HHR you would put a seperate unit like this though.

Control switches, one is for the FM modulator, the red rocker switches on both monitors. Makes it easy for the driver to do everything.


I have some instructions for the monitor install. It's easy to do. Just got to be willing to cut the headrests yourself.....

Introducing an innovative single player/upgradeable Head Restraint DVD System. This system allows you to select the best option to fit your needs.

The kit comes with a passenger side head restraint complete with DVD player / monitor, and a driver’s side head restraint “shell” excluding the electronics.

The electronics are available separately so you can choose either a dual player system (by adding the player/monitor), or a single player system (by adding just the monitor).

Both electronic units have audio/video input jacks conveniently located on the front. Monitors on each unit are adjustable for optimal viewing angles.

Regardless of which option you select, the electronics can be quickly and easily installed in the driver’s head restraint.

Now after you pay for that kit you have to decide which system you want. You can get a monitor only (part#19155663) or a monitor and a 2nd DVD player (part#19157118). Thanks for the info. A little on the pricey side if you ask me. I can pick up the dvd players on ebay for around 2-300.00. I was a little nervous about cutting open my headrests, but it doesn't look too bad.

I agree, I even checked gmpartdirect.com and their price wasn't that much lower. I put a set in my 2003 Tahoe for $495.
