Stock Speaker/Amp question

Here's what I got...

-2006 LT with the Premium sound package.

What I want to do:

-Keep the stock head unit and Pioneer Amp, but swap out the door speakers, tweeters, and sub.

My question:

-What size sub is equiped? (I've been reading and some say 8")
-What What are the specs on the Pioneer Amp? How much power can it handle and what Ohm speakers should I be looking for? What's the most power the amp will send to the sub at what Ohm?

I just don't want to over drive the stock head unit or stock amp. Thanks in advance.

mounting depth of the sub is kinda tight. I just switched everything out this weekend. Any sub deeper than 3.25 inches might require a spacer. Also If you are taking the sub box out I would try to find a way of sealing it. I just wrapped it with sound deadening stuff and it seems to have helped some.

No one knows how much power the amp is putting out though? I'm wanting to replace the door, tweeter, and subs with either Hertz or JL speakers. Any recommendations?

I replaced all mine with JL speakers. No idea how much the stock amp put out. I couldn't find the info and wanted more control than the stock box gave me.

I would recommend the hertz dieci series as a stock replacement. a couple good friends whose shops deals in hertz say the dieci series is remarkable. They have the nice low end and midbass factory speakers have, but also give you the volume and clarity quality of aftermarket. The hertz tweeters are some of the best out. You cant go wrong with hertz. Thats more than likely what I will be putting in my car next, except the Mille line.

I picked up a set of Dieci Components tonight. I heard the Energies and they rock. They were just a little bit more out of my price range. I did find out about the stock amp...It's pretty sad to say that it's estimated to only put out roughly 12-15 more watts to the entire system. The thing is friggin tiny.

I'm trying to figure out how to get the damn door panels off. The tweeters were real easy...the doors on the other hand, I can tell are going to be a pain in the ass

There is 3 screws. 2 in the arm rest handle and one behind the pull release. Then just use a screwdriver or panel tool under the bottom of door panel and pull. After the first time or 2 they get easier.
