Stock tweets good enough?
Stock tweets good enough?
ok so I'm sure you've all seen someone who keeps the bass at 0 or even MAXED out with a stock tweet+mid setup
we all know how terrible and "phone like" this sounds to other people as well as just being terrible for SQ purposes
I have my bass all the way off because why would you want bass in the tweets (or even mids, really) when clearly that's what the sub is for
anyways, I find that even with a decent amount of bass, the tweets seem to do a pretty f***kn good job!
anyone else feel the same way?
now I'm not sure how they sound OUTSIDE the vehicle as I've only tested the bass resonance or w/e (how it feels outside) but I'm sure they aren't too far off of some decent aftermarket components if EQ'd properly?
I have an old school sony xm-4045 amp laying around, wondering if it was worth it to hook the stock tweets/mids up to it or possibly get a component set and hook them up to the amp.
any suggestions/questions/feedback/corrections/inquiries more than welcome and appreciated :)
P.S. I don't like running anything from the decks speaker outputs because there is already a lack of air flow behind the deck as it is...
BTW I have just the tweeters and mids in the front, no sub in the back and no apparent amps
furthermore, any info on what size tweeters fit in the stock pods would also be great. I know I've asked before but I don't want to rip the panels off to find the size

Tweets have no bass..they are filtered...Bass in the mids are limited and needed to get the proper "fill" in the sound spectrum. And if your using the stock system the bass controls do affect the sub.. as do the fader...I just use the fade to control different song bass levels so as not to mess with the sound of the reg speakers. Your basically running your system "flat" as far as tone equalization is concerned....
The stock tweets sounded good when I changed the head unit, But they sound much better now, I switched to MBquart they all fit into the stock locations without modification, cant tell anything was changed , Till you turn it on
