sub/speaker combo with amps

i have a 2009 hhr pioneer audio system. i want to put in 2 pairs of Kicker 40CS674's for the front and back speakers, which will be powered by the factory stereo (for now). then i want to put in a RE Audio SXX15D2 15" subwoofer with a MTX Thunder 1000.1 amp. then i heard something about needing a AudioControl LC7i which is an RCA converter or something like that? i dont know what it is or what it does but how does this sytem sound? is there any holes in my understanding and will i need anything else. also will this be something i can do myself relatively easily if i have a weekend to spend on it?

You will need to disassemble the interior of the rear to get access to the factory wiring ..... That might take a minute or two .
