Subwoofer location questions

You guys with sub boxes. 1) don't you worry about breakins and theft? 2) how do you prevent them from rolling around and also eend up with something that is a quick disconnect and removal?

Any of you guys remove the floor panel and install the sub in a raised panel, like 2 or 3 inches of elevation? This could be removed quickly and the stock panel reinstalled for loading.............

I would like to install an 11 inch Focal V2 sub in my HHR but am having a challege as to where to put it............

1. i live in an apartment complex and security walks around, i have all my windows tinted, and if they really want to lift 100 lbs of sub, go ahead, insurance has it covered.
2. it doesnt move at all back there on the carpet, the carpet has rubber on the bottom of it and the box is real hard to move on the carpet.

Here is pics of mine

In the bottom pic you can see that my subs are facing the other way. you can just roll them over to get to the spare. i have enough wire there so you can get to the spare when the cover is open. You could do a quick connect if you wanted, but i carry my hex key so i can take my fuse out.

Hey Jaydogg, where did the power wire to your amp run? Thinking of installing box I have using the factory radio. Just not sure how to wire it up. I have the pioneer premium system, just want to thump alittle more.

The power wire and ground run from the battery which is by the spare. and you can get your remote from either behind the deck or the amp is over next to the sub. rcas are a different story.

Love them....this would be my 3rd and 4th. I had 1 in the sentra and 1 in the cavi. the sentra keep it when i traded it in and the cavi well, it got 3 10's because my woman wanted more bass. they are loud and clean i would say that these are just as nice as a JL w3's. I almost went all JL, but this alpine setup was cheaper and all of it works so nice together, expecially if i can find an amp link, im waiting too hear if my boy in japan can overnight me one need dynomat its that loud.

I'd be pretty impressed if thieves could get this out... The whole frame is 140lbs... And I'm using sercurity keyed Torx(ish) head bolts going through the leading edge of the amp-rack portion. I carry the key on my keychain, to get at my spare for now, at my compressor, tank, and valves soon... :)

Crutchfield has them at 2 bills each...That's out of my budget. They sure look tough and similar to the W3's. BTW...Ebay has the W3's at 4-5 bills! I think I need to reconsider my audio/video budget...

That's why I haven't even thought of totally upgrading my audio system yet. I just wanted to make the factory system sound a little better for now until I decide what I actually want and how much I want to spend.

that's what I'm looking for. An 8" sub and a powerful enough amp that will run all my speakers.
