I wonder if there is a different manual for the 2LT models ?

Finding low mileage HHR's is getting harder as time goes by.

Geez ... Chevrolet.

Drop the HHR right when gasoline goes to $4.00 plus a gallon ?

Drop the HHR right when Motor Trend finally gives it the In Class Top Award ?

Drop the HHR right when there is NO Real replacement ? Not even a lowly PT

Try to sell me on the Equinox as a replacement ????? Hah !!

Geez ... Chevrolet
I think we all feel the same way.

The sub is not overpowering at all...most feel its not enough...most new cars blow the HHRs system away in that area so..you may change your mind after you hear it..I use the fader to control the sub(s) in my ride and it works well..you back the bass off too much and the rest of the speakers lose it...other then disconnecting at the sub theres no other way to do it...if you pull fuse you'll lose the rest of the speakers as all roads lead to that one amp..

Thats kinda what I thought going in here.

It just made sense that if you could buy the OEM Sub Woofer Kit and install, then you should be able to disconnect it somehow and un-install "In Place" so you could hook it back up if you want.
Your right ... I may find it acceptable after trying it and fiddling around with adjustments but if I don't like it I want an easy way out.

If I could find the right 1LT, that would solve my concern. So far no Luck.

I am a "Little Different" in my Likes, but here is what I most do not like about the 2LT.

1. Sport Suspension and 17" tires. Want 16" tires and a softer ride. That can be changed for some pretty big dough. The rest of the sport suspension package is probably tolerable.

2. Leather wrapped steering wheel. Don't like the sharp inside radius's the way the stitching is done. It irritates my fingers the way I hold and turn the steering wheel.

3. Steering audio controls.. Don't use them and they are a bit uncomfortable to lay your hand on for longer trips and accidently change your radio settings.

4. Running Boards ... Don't use them and find both my wife and myself having to step over them the enter and exit. They are good for helping stop road debris damage but you can use splash guards instead.

5. Chrome roof rack ... Not part of the standard 2LT equipment but they are on most all 2LT's and some 1LT's anyway. I don't use a roof rack.

6. Finally ... Possibly the Pioneer radio with sub woofer.
Not sure without trying it.

I agree with most of this. I dont have running boards and like the look without them.

Radio controls i domt need. And yep i hit them all the time in our mazda.

Roof racks dont need like the smooth roof look without them.

16 inch tires for me. Cheaper to buy and typically last longer.

Anyway i like your taste. Lol good choices.

Well ... I Did The Deal !!!

2011 2LT Black Granite .. 11,400 miles. One owner. Gray Cloth Interior which I happen to like better than Leather. Don't need heated seats here.

This has given me the ability to compare my 1LT and the 2LT side by side.

1. Both have stock tires and wheels.
Like the looks of the 17" tires and chrome clad wheels best but still prefer the ride, pricing, and added mileage of the 16" tires.

2. Ride quailty of 2LT is great but definately firmer and also different in feel. My 2LT door plate calls for 35psi front and rear on the 215/50/17's so I lowered them to "cold" 32 front and 30 rear just to see what the ride would feel like. A little bit softer but not enough for me.
May switch this car back to 16".
That change would be interesting as it will give me an in between car.

3. Still don't like the roof rack but for now I'll leave it be.

4. I still feel the car is easier to get in and out of without the running boards but here again, I will leave them for now. I do like the fact I do not have to install the splash Guards if I leave the Boards on, knowing that the splash guards would add addition protection if needed.

5. Still like the non wrapped steering wheel the best. Thats just me.

6. Love the Black Granite Paint.
More work ...Yes but it is going to be inside a garage when it's not out toolin around.

7. The Sub Woofer radio is not much different then the standard radio from what I can see. I will judge it after I have had more time to compare with different music and settings. The owners manual numbers are different on the 1LT and the 2Lt but still no mention of the Sub Woofer.

More Later,

SF

I have the 2lt system in my panel it sound greats, not too much bump.

I upgraded the SS to a Alpine system, never changed the sub, it sounds twice as good.

Besides you will love the heated seats, I think you will find the 7 speaker system sounds just fine.

I guess the leather don't come on all 2lts ??

If you decide you want the 17's I have a set for you.

Unhappy dont even try it, alot of work!

The sub has it's own small i mean tiny amp next to it and to get to it you have to remove half your trunk, just not worth it.$
just turn the bass down on your radio.

Couldn't agree more, Just picked up and HHR for myself this week. Wife bought one new in 2010.

Mine is a 2LT with the 7 speaker system. The bass is no where near overpowering. I have parts on order to strip the factory upgrades system and replace it all with 100% alpine.

You can never have to much bass IMO.

If you had a decent head unit, you could just use the sub control
