USB Connection Question

Have a '09 SS with stock stereo and steering wheel control. I tried plugging my phone into the usb input on the stereo. It gives me a message " unsupported device " I have a samsung galaxy phone. Is there a way to play music from my phone through the stereo?

Have you paired up your phone to the radio to enable the Bluetooth function ? If not, the radio may not recognize the phone when you plug into the USB port.

I have a Samsung Galaxy 4 paired to my radio. Never tried playing music with it, so can't answer that part.

The BT is voice only, look in the Owner manual it might address the USB. It might be that it sees the phone as a hard drive. Remember the radio was made before people were using phones for music; music on thumb drives was brand new.

My phone is synced up to the stereo. I was hoping there was a device i could plug into the usb port and bluetooth to the phone. But don't know if that would work if the phone is synced to the stereo already

OE BT is VOICE ONLY. There are USB BT dongles. They are different systems should't depend on each other.

I have a couple of BT dongles that I paid less than $2 for, I don't know if they would work with the radio. You could turn the OE off and use the dongle for both, or use the OE for phone and the dongle for music.
