USB drive

What brands/models/sizes of USB thumb drives will work with the factory stereo in a 2010 model? I've read that some thumb drives simply won't work. Can I use a 64 GB drive in it? Or should I stick to 32 GB?

Trial and error, I'd use the 32gb

Since the car and stereo is 5 + years old it probably would want USB 2.0 spec drives and not the newer 3.0/3.1 spec drives? I would check the fine print on the package to insure that the drive will work with older USB spec devices and you should be fine.

I have some very old USB 1.0 and 2.0 thumb drives and they are usable but slow as can be. The 3.0 spec drives are faster if nothing else. They are pretty cheap now days so you can try different ones without breaking the bank!

I ended up buying a PNY 64gb metal thumb drive from Walmart. The package says "PNY 64 GB *|Go USB Flash Drive". It is a USB 2.0 drive and was already formatted as a Fat32 drive. I brought it home and copied one song to it as a test and I plugged it in and it found the song right away. I hooked it back up to my computer and copied a bunch more music to it and tested it in the car again and it worked. I'm copying some more music to it right now and hopefully by the time I wake up in the morning, it will have all the songs I want to have on it and it will still work. Here's a link to the thumb drive I bought:

PNY 64GB Metal Attache USB Flash Drive - Walmart.com

The in-store price was a little over $32. I wonder if I complain if Walmart will refund the difference. It won't hurt to try. After I get all the music copied over and use the stereo for a long time, I'll post another status report here.

Now my issue is that certain albums play in alphabetical order instead of by the track listing. These same songs are listed on the display as "(songtitle).mp3" while most of the other songs are just listed as "(songtitle)". I'm trying to figure out what is causing this but I've hit a dead end.
