Talking Want to install a new stereo system

Hi all,

My Gomez needs a new stereo system. I don't need DVD maybe just a CD changer and/or mp3 hookups. I've been reading about the JVC that's like 900 and we dont need that.

Also, you have to buy the speakers separately right, and is it easy for a girl to install or should I let my hubby do it???

LOL

Thanks for all your help in advance...

As I tell my daughter, you can do anything that a man can do AND do it with style. I say get in there it and try it for yourself.

I agree with bdubsee. Especially the speaker switch. Pretty straight forward stuff. That was the first thing I did, change out the speakers, it sounded MUCH better.

Let your hubby do it ...Only because it's a P.I.A. to do. Pulling panels, reaching for this, and that, sharp edges etc. I still have scars on my forearms trying to dig for stuff. And tha'ts not saying if you are going to change speaker wire, which I highly recommend,... Major P.I.A.

Also are you handy with a dremel or something that cuts plastic? Because if you are going with an aftermarket stereo you're going to have to trim the OEM plastic behind the stock stereo. I think I almost removed the entire back plastic cover on mine...

i say you could do it. if you dont want an expensive stereo go to walmart and buy the dual they have. its 138 dollars and comes with the iplug that allows you to plug in a mp3 player.
