what did you do with the old one?

I would like to upgrade the Stereo in my LS, from the base model to the one that is in an LT. I know there are some features in the next model up that I would like to have.
I like the look of the factory stereo, so I do not want to swap another brand of stereo in, at least at this point.
I know there are other people who swapped their stereo out, so I am wondering what they did with it?

I bought one on ebay, got lucky on the price. I like it a lot, plays MP3's, WMA's, custom EQ etc.

Sound is 100% better than that base radio too, even with stock speakers. I'm going to upgrade them when I get extra cash.

If you but one off ebay, make sure they provide the VIN NUMBER of the car it came out of, otherwise I was told it would be a big paper weight.

They can be used from one car to the other and VIN is nice, but not necessary. I got one from a guy who used to post here with 6 disc and then sold my 1 disc to another member here.

Biggest issue you'll have in my opinion, is getting it unlocked. Can only be done by dealer and mine charged me $99 for the pleasure. Apparently some dealers charge way less and mine was done first year, so price may have come down. Check with your dealer about price before purchase. Just a word of advice from someone who has been there and done that. Installed it myself...it was really pretty simple.

My dealer charged me $75. I did the install myself and they asked for the VIN of the other vehicle. Said I had to have it, maybe thats why it was $75.

At first when I read the title to this thread I thought you were referring to spouses .

I was going to say, "buried her in the backyard after she drown in the bathtub while drinking the poison martini".
