Wiring Harness, Several Available, which work?
Wiring Harness, Several Available, which work?
Hello everyone, this is my first post and this is in regards to finding the correct wiring harness that will keep all the stock features including the warning chimes.
I have done some research the past few weeks, and found 2 that claim to work. These are both class 2 types with bypass kits and/or the LAN connectors (supposedly)
This first one I found is the SCOSHE GMO9B, here is the link:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=6235647&type=product&productCate goryId=cat08291&id=1108126081704[/URL]
It is quite pricy, and Best Buy told me they don't know if it will work or not, for they have yet to put one into an HHR.
The second one I found is made by Delco, it is a
Delco (GM) 24-Pin Harness/LAN Data Bus. I just ordered this one because it only put me $25. I will let you guys know if it works or not. It intrigued me because it comes with the LAN Data Bus. Here is the link:

Well I hope I get some responses/feedback from you guys. I know many of us are looking for a harness which keeps all of our factors chimes and allows us to upgrade our system at the same time. I will keep everyone posted!

I've read that some can be made to work. I did a search and came up with 12 threads using search term radio wiring harness. Your answer should lie in one of those threads. HERE are the search results I came up with.
Just to save you some grief, we will be carrying the Scoche GM LAN Adapter when it is released.
Currently none of the adapters on the market work with the HHR's low-speed GM LAN system.
From my Scosche rep:
"Mike, it is a priority and we are working on it, but it may be SEMA ish before we finish our through testing and R&D. I’ll keep you updated. Sorry for the delays."
SEMA is at the end of October...

I went and purchased a pioneer avic-z1 today and the installer informed me that there are none available as of yet(lan adapt. for the HHR). Now for me, id like to keep my chimes so he said something about relocating the factory stereo would enable me to do so.............well see.

Plus sides of wiring direct: you can leave your doors open and play the stereo while cleaning/detailing (stock radio "Shuts off" when driver door is opened). Wire it "hot" and have the option of playing tunes without having the key in. Wire to a higher amp source (center console fusebox), to provide more power (and cleaner sound), for your HU's amp.
Hope it helps,
