Yes! Something like that. I've been warned that while I may not be intending to tow anything with it, the combined weight of both 4 bikes and a rack could be more than the adapter or hitch itself could handle. I guess since the pressure is more pushing down rather than pulling like you would be while towing could be too much stress on a class 1 or 2 hitch.

Even some of the heavier bikes are around 40 lbs.

I’ve had 4 adult bikes in my Drawtite hitch and the adapter, no problems and we hauled them down to Charleston SC and back
