Aftermarket Brakes

Anyone tried these?
http://stores.brakeplanet.com/Items/...20Brake%20Pads

I am in the market for new front rotors and pads. I need the best for the best price. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Personally I would go for a better brand, or at least a known record of performance. Also, it is not necessary to have both drilled and slotted rotors, one or the other is better.

They look fine to me, but unless you're really pushing the car or have upgraded your wheel size, slotted and drilled aren't necessary. You can get regular rotors for half the price of those at NAPA, and most of the time new rotors aren't necessary unless you cooked or torqued the old ones and warped them. Semi-metallic pads should be better on rotor life as well.

Of course the OE rotors are warped. Been turned twice and I'm friggin sick of the vibration when braking. I would prefer cross-drill or slotted and not both. Which is better and what is the best for the money? I am also interested in those green stuff or red stuff pads. Which is best? I dont drive it as much anymore because I bought a new truck a few weeks ago so its not an everyday driver anymore. Some days it never leaves the garage.

Remember when looking at brake pads that high performance pads work best under xtreme conditions(fast driving, hard braking). I think a good low dust pad with the slotted rotors will be enough for most applications on the HHR.

Any rotor should never be turned more than once. I would just buy some NAPA rotors and semi-metallic pads. The rotors will be just fine unless you're autocrossing or upgrading your wheel sizes. The semi-metallic pads also won't dig in to the rotor as much as the stock ceramics and heat-sink the rotors to the point where they warp.

The rotor-warping issue still fascinates me somewhat. My car has over 52k on the stock rotors will no warping at all. Had some squealing between 15k and 30k, but that went away. Maybe I just brake like my grandma or something.
