Best shock/strut for wifes daily driver?

I have been looking at the Konis for my wifes 2007 HHR LT2. It seems safe to say they are probably the "best" strut. My question is are they the "best" for this application? I just want a high quality shocks/struts that will last a long time and have good ride quality. I don't mind sending the $$ if they are a good match but this is no race car.

She bought it with 82K miles in Feb. and it now has 110K miles.

Thanks!

I have tried a few setups on my 2lt. The fe3, (factory) was too high and a lot of body roll. Installed some HHRSS springs on the fe3 struts and shocks, gave it a nice ride height, and much less roll. Next, got a set of YYZ V-1 springs and paired them with fe-5 (stock SS) struts and shocks. Has the same ride height, rides smooth like a Caddy, corners absolutely flat, without a sway bar in the rear. I'm tickled pink..... handles great, rides smooth, looks great.

this pic is a little lower, cause I'm hauling 600lbs of concrete blocks in the back.

Looks nice! I hadn't even planned on replacing the springs but now you have me thinking about it. Not to beat a dead horse but how stiff is the ride? I really don't want to make the ride stiffer than stock. I would be worried she would be unhappy with it. Right now she is very happy with it, it just needs front struts. I think you have convinced me to go with the stock AC Delco FE5 struts though. :)

They ride smoother that the stock SS springs, very similar to the stock Fe3.

but not squishy on the corners, I hate the tires I have on the panel, they ride like rocks, but with the new springs I cant tell, even over tracks.

This one rides smooth too, but not like stock.

Save yourself some cash and go with KYB struts. For a daily driver it's a no-brainer. If you wish to lower there are 3-4 or more brands of springs one can grab. Eibach, Canucks, Goldline and more.

I ordered the FE5 AC Delco struts from Rockauto. It was a $60 difference between the set of 4 KYB's and the set of 4 FE5's. $267 shipped didn't seem all that bad to me. I'm waiting to get a quote from John on the YYZ V-1's. I still haven't decided if I am for sure going to swap out the springs yet.

Ha Ha thats the same as 3, 200lb people, they carry that and more. I think I heard 1000 lbs some where, wonder if that is tow a thousand, and haul a thousand.

I hate these tires, they are stiff, but I cant tell since I put the YYZV-1's on it. They are Potenza 760's.
