Is their a brake conversion kit out there somewhere? Drums to rotors for the hhr. I cant find anything. Any suggestions?

You'll have to switch to a hhr ss or cobalt ss rear beam. I suppose you could also fab your own brackets.

i searched this the other day , i found 3 old posts , but no help. ss comes with rear disc ??? right??? if so how come no one has done this?? the reason i searched is i noticed some on a van , the uplander. i guess no chance of those fitting the hhr??

A couple people have done it to cobalts and at least one person, hvrod, has done it to an hhr.

Give Todd at TCE a call -I have Wilwood on front and back - 6 puck front,
4 puck back - 13 inch rotors
karl :D

I could do Karl's rear kit again. But there's no parking brake either so you may find that something you don't like.

I could do a Wilwood p-brake caliper on perhaps a 11.75 up to 13" rear rotor also. And on the rear beam as done above. Cost would run about $1200 plus....something else you probably wouldn't like.

Sorry...not a lot of options!

I'm giving this some thought, with the extra power I'll be getting from Hahn Racecraft's turbo, I'll be wanting much better brakes.

Does this need to be a local job, or is it in kit form?

Todd TCE 03-07-2009 08:29 AM

Both front and rear kits were bolt on. And if we did up a p-brake one it too would be bolt on. I don't offer too many kits that require excessive fab work. The only hiccup on a p-brake caliper is often the need for specialized cables and in the case of the drum to disc set up this would be true. I can only give you a contact for this and let you work with them on that part.
