Thumbs up Brake update

Another member posted that they started having vibration with EBC slotted and drilled brakes after only 1,500 miles. (I think it was Lee something...) Well, me too.

I gave up on the EBC and went to the NAPA Ultra:

And the NAPA Safety Stop Pads:

These have been flawless for the last few months. I highly recommend them. And "NO" I do NOT work for NAPA Auto stores!!! I just like to share good news.

Thanks for the info, Barry. Just rolled over 50K and only had the rotors turned once though. These sound like a good replacement when I'm going to need new ones.

I use NAPA parts

I have use many "disk" in the past with my K1500 4WD suburban. It eats brakes with heavy loads and mountain vacations but untill I installed NAPA brake parts I was replacing or turning rotors every year.

I will put NAPA disk on the HHR when it's turn come around, will not even mess with "turning" the stock rotors, scrap pile. Still braking good after 46K miles though.

I belive you get what you pay for and NAPA must use quality metal stock to manufacture theirs, not "vomited recyled" crap like some other I used in the past.

And NO, I do not work for NAPA.

That is the exact same thing I put on mine right after I got it with warped rotors. The whole deal was about $150 and I've had no issues at all. I agree with the poor metal construction in many rotors. These, at least for now, don't seem to have that issue.

Not only do I not work for NAPA, I'm disabled and can't work at all.

after about 15000 mile my EBCs started to shimmy also, I went with R1 concepts got a hell of a deal on the ceramic pads and premium rotors, So far after 3,000 miles no shimmy, no rust and excellent stopping power.

The only brake parts I buy these days are the NAPA premium line.

My mechanic of 22 years says the NAPA Ultras are made in either the USA or Canada and they use the best metal, not cheap foreign metal. So far...so good.

BTW...EBC does NOT stand behind their products so stay away from them. You have been duly notified. That is all. Over and out.
