Ceramic brake pad vs Standard rotor
Ceramic brake pad vs Standard rotor
Doubts strangle me.
I have a ceramic brake pads, it is peacefully lying in my closet for 2 years. Yesterday I installed it on my car.
Experienced people say to me: "Cerámica - this is good, but remember - this is good only for " perforated " rotor. Ceramic brake pads will eat standard rotor in a short time. In addition, poor braking. And if the standard rotor overheat - total failure of brakes. "
Yesterday I drove through the city - I do not feel discomfort.
Guys, what do you think about this?

I think you will be fine. I used higher-friction performance pads with plain rotors on my last car in autocross events, and had no issues. I believe that drilled and slotted rotors are only for appearance in most modern applications. If you are going onto a track and braking heavily, the answer is different. On the street, you won't get enough heat in them to notice any difference.
Drilled/Slotted rotors are for looks in most (almost all cases). I can show you C6R rotors/Lamborghini RSv rotors, neither are slotted. Drilled and slotted rotors are an old school technique that followed through to today, unfortunately.
