Do I already have a rear sway bar?

So I crawled under my HHR this morning to get a gauge as to how to install the TTR rear sway bar I ordered, and it looks like there is already a bar running under the triangle shaped cross member? Is that supposed to be there?

Thanks in advance

Yes but the TTR bar will improve your ride and handling immensely!!!

This thread from 2006 references what I found as the "Torque Tube Stiffener"

We did have a talk about this last year in the TTR sway bar thread. Take a look here for some extra reading. https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/hhr-...r-38589/page7/
And, if you like pictures better. Here's the one from that thread:

It is a torsion bar, the TTR is an add on, meaning you keep the small factory torsion bar, and add on the TTR rear sway bar. All cobalts and HHRs are this way
Issue: factory torsion bar is to small by itself and needs help; the TTR rear bar helps give proper support.
