GDZ is absolutely right the first edition GoldLines are a much more stiff ride, then when you add a nitrogen fill in the tires you do get a "solid" ride...but I have driven worse...all of my hotrods that were lowered old school... cut or warmed coils and rear lowering blocks. Probably a contributing factor to my kidney problems today !!! Don Juan the drop you mentioned matches my first gens...

 

My 2nd gen GLs came in a box labeled 1262. These were purchased just after the 2nd gen hit the market.

Hey, I know many owners have used Goldline or Eibach but I have SSIC lowering springs on my HHR.

It's a kit made for the HHR and Cobalt.

 

1panel2nv what were the lowering specs on your goldlines? and how is your ride quality as far as being loaded up with people and empty. Same Second question for GDZ and chingchonger.

 

1.75'' front, 2.125'' rear. I don't really get too many passengers in the panel, but the most weight I've had in the back is probably around 150-200 pounds. I didn't notice a difference. General ride quality is very good. A little stiffer than stock, but that's expected and it's still comfortable. When you hit rough road though, it gets bouncy. But that's expected as well, since you're still using the stock struts.

I almost got Koni struts and shocks, but I decided to wait for KYB to release theirs since I could live with the ride quality. I'd actually like to be about another inch lower and have the suspension stiffer.

 

I feel more vibrations with the low profile 20" tires. Still rides soft due to the stock shocks. All I have in the back is about 100 lbs of audio equipment; 2-12" subwoofers and a 1000 watt rms amplifier. I'm thinking about just upgrading the rear shocks.

I have goldlines on mine,they ride great.I have had mine loaded with four people and no problems. I would like it if it were about an inch lower in the front and a half inch in the rear.

 

To Don Juan... I am running the goldlines as well and have no issues yet. Loading the HHR with 5 adults and my sub box and still running smooth. I haven't really noticed it being rough or harsh like some say, but then I'm used to the lowered ride. Don't know what generation I have, probably the 3rd by what everyone else here says, but I wish I could get a little more drop myself too. Remember, the only way to know is to order and try it out, there is always ebay

 

yeah i think im just going to buy the goldlines, if i don't like them i know a couple other hhr's and cobalts i could pawn them off to i guess. Thanks for the information everyone.
