Eibach Pro Kit Tips/Suggestions Please
Eibach Pro Kit Tips/Suggestions Please
I just ordered the Eibach Pro Kit. I'm either going to have the dealer install them when I go in for another warranty issue or just have my local shop that installed my rims and tires do them. I'm figuring the regular shop since the dealer already was trying to hit me up for new shocks n struts too.
Questions:
I'm assuming I will need an alignment. Yes?
Do "bump stops" need trimmed?
Anything else I need to be aware of or mention to the installing shop?
Thanks

I just did mine the other day. I bought everything new for the front and rear. I trimmed the bump stops (from experience on other vehicles). It still rides the same, but eliminated the "boing" over bumps in the rear. It does take curves better now. Took me a whopping 1 1/2 hrs at the shop not including the alignment. Make sure you get camber bolts to get the camber pulled in also. So yes the alignment is necessary.
thanks. im stupid lol so:
would the shop have the camber bolts or do ineed get them from somewhere specific? also do you habe a pic of the bump stops and hoe much should be trimmed? thx if they dont get trimmed will it cause damage. ihave just cant seem to find all of these answers. thx

How much of a drop does the kit give? That part of the reason i wont lower mine. I have it leveled but i regularly have four people and i haul lots of stuff.
If you have access to a jack and a jack stand you can do the rear yourself in an hour or so. The fronts are a little mord complicated. Need a spring compressor. It may save you a few bucks if you do the rears yourself. Just an idea
An alignment is what...about 80 bucks. So 320 to install the kit. Seems expensive to me. But i havent priced it before.

I didn't need an alignment after installing my Canucks but I guess all kits are different. $400 seems a little high. Most shops charge $60 for an alignment and as for the labor of installing the new coils...$200 max on these cars. If the shop knows what they are doing, it should take no more than two hours to complete...that's $100 an hour.
