front end noise...killin me!!!

noise from the front end.
a dull thud coming from the front of the car.
small and large bumps in the road seems to be at lower speeds.
if the car is sitting still and off I turn the steering wheel back and forth very quickly I can recreate the noise. any ideas? I'm fresh out
After reading countless posts I started replacing parts.
1 Moog problem solver a-arm bushings
2 ball joints
3 struts front
4 sway bar links
5 steering shaft
6 brakes and rotors
thanks Scott

If you can recreate the noise sitting still, then you're halfway to fixing it. One person to turn the wheel and recreate noise. The other person up under the car to find out what/where the noise is located.
You can find the problem a lot easier that way than us trying to guess from our keyboards.

If you put 12 inch sway bar links on it the will bang on the LCAs.

Is this an SS? There is a good chance that the ball joints are too small for the steering knuckle.

His signature says its a 2009 HHR LT.

Somewhere on here there is a forum on different noises with causes and cures. I think it was a factory bulletin. Could be overflow bottle, the ECM, there was a whole list.

Check the upper engine mount, mine was hitting metal to metal

I would retorque the rear lca bolts and the axle nuts, the swaybar end link nuts , sometimes they just don’t get tight enough the first time.

if you replaced the struts without doing the strut bearings, the answer could be there as well. an idea.

The noise was there before I changed anything, also changed wheel bearings and sway bar bushings forgot to put that down.
