Got some clunks

Replaced the 2 wheel bearings and now I have a clunking when I pull up on the fender of the front right side . This doesn't happen on the left . I took the wheel off this morn and grabbed the driveshaft with my hand and gave it a small pull upward. There is some play up and down and also some play in and out of ( what I believe is the tranny.) Could I of dislodged the driveshaft when I was doing the wheel bearings ) should there be a bit of play . The sound I get is similar to the noise I heard when pulling on the fender ??? Please help

When you removed the hub bearing , you push the cv axle in towards the transmission, then you unbolt the hub and remove it, so,, there isn’t that much opportunity to damage the cv axle. So, let’s check off the list, did you...
Torque the axle nut to 155 ft/lbs?
Is it possible you are hearing the ball joint or lca rear bushing, they can make noises.

More info

After I finished the wheel bearings I took it for a drive . The grinding issue was resolved but then when I wiggled the steering back and forth I heard a clunking sound everytime it went back and forth . This was not there before I changed the bearing but could of been I just never noticed . There was no shimmy in the steering wheel or vehicle movment back and forth when coming to a stop like the video showed . Just trying to eliminate any other possibilities. You guys are the pros and im following your lead as to what to check or do next . Thanx again

Moved to a new thread, not related to your prior electrical issues.

I don't see any mark... Perhaps you have the sway bar end links that are too long. Should be about 10". Many books say 12" fits HHR, that is incorrect.

They are correct

The sway bar links are 10" so there correct . The mark on the lca's is right below the sway bar . Could the loose rear LCA bushing cause the control arm to move more and hit the sway bar ?

The sway bar may have shifted to the passenger side. Compare the clearance on each side.

Yes the rear bushing can allow enough movement, along with the sway bar bushings if they are mushy.

There are supposed to be plastic stops on the inner side of the sway bar bushings, the disappear allowing the sway bar to shift left right. If that is the problem you can get a couple of stainless hose clamps around the sway bar.
