HHR SS coil springs from O'Reilly's

If I order the direct replacement coil springs for an HHR SS from an auto parts store such as O'Reilly's or AutoZone , it should lower my 06 2LT about an inch, correct ? I mean, they are only 50 bucks a pair. That would definitely be a cheap drop.

I just checked the Autozone catalogue and yup - pn: CC81065 is specified for the SS rear coils (and CC81063 for non-SS). Good to see them carry replacements for the SS.

and yup, should drop it about an inch. Depending on the spring rate, you may want to upgrade the shocks/struts to contain the spring (meaning to stop it pogoing/bouncing).

Thanks for the confirmation, Whopper. I just figured it was too good to be true.

Well that's odd. I just went to the Autozone site and typed in part #CC81065. It said "Does Not Fit" for my 2010 HHR SS.

And the CC81065 did the same when I set it up for a non-SS, then it got all confused as I switched back and forth between SS and non-SS. Odd it is..

Unless it's a genuine gm part, you are are just taking their word that it is a direct replacement. It may indeed fit but have a different ride height or spring rate.

That is a Raybestos part number. Pretty sure that real SS springs are AC Delco.

Thanks for the info, guys. I was hoping somebody had already tried it. I guess I might have to be the Guinea Pig or order the ones from Rock Auto.I just want to level my HHR out for now and not lose too much load capability. I guess I could just wait for some to pop up on here for a good price.
