You adjust the brake shoes with the adjusters first , then adjust the parking brake cable under the console, simply pull the console cover up , then use a 10mm deep socket

If the parking brake was working OK before you did the brake shoe replacement, then you've got something installed incorrectly now.
Either your new shoes are not adjusted up enough or you don't have the hardware installed correct.

You should unscrew the nut on the parking brake cable to release tension, in order to remove the cable from the brake shoe , ebrake lever, much easier then trying to pull the spring back and holding with side cutters or vise grip pliers.

Exclamation parking braking cable issues left side (driver side)

Hi today I follow the recommendation and the passenger rear side is fine now, so when I applied the parking(emergency) brake working fine for the passenger side, but the driver side not work so the wheels still spreading, I review the tension inside of the car and I saw this.
I took the pictures...where you can see the driver side is not the level of the passenger side, why? I need to replace the parking cable?, both side or just the driver side?, some help please... thanks

My guess is that you did not connect the driver side cable to the shoe or the cable is broken on the driver side.

Hi Thanks donbrew , yes I connect to the shoes perfectly in both side, because I replaced all shoes and the cylinders also in both sides, so I in that way for sure I made the connection, maybe is frozen or broken? if is frozen is possible to repair? Thanks so much
