How low can you go?

I have an 08 2LT, on 235/45-17. I replaced my stock springs with Gold Line Gen 2 both front and rear but I am still not satisfied with the ride height. I want to drop another 1 1/2 to 2, any ideas or info? Are there any aftermarket that would take me down 3 to 4" from stock? I would prefer to not go with airbags or custom.

coilovers

they make coilovers for the hhr , and i believe the 1s for the cobalt are the same.....i also found some adjustable springs that fit over the strut and adjust the same way coilovers do....coilovers - $800+ , adjustable springs - $99 - $120....you may also try this if you are budget minded , as i am...i kept searching ebay for the cheapest coil springs for any car....most struts are the same diameter , (but some are different)....and since it is a lowering project , i really dont think the spring rates are going to make much difference , as long as the springs are on a simular size car....i got a set of the adjustable springs that fit the struts for about $20 total off fleabay...i don't know how or if i can use them on the rear , because they fit the strut..and there is no rear hhr strut....maybe someday i'll get a chance to try them on the front....both of the things i mentioned claim to lower up to 4 inches.

Without going custom and spending big $$$, you might want to try and find a set of first gen GLs. The have the greatest drop rate of any of the springs made for the HHR.

Here is what the 1st gen GLs will do for the HHR, pic compliments of Mike (SoCalHHR)............

Where might one find a set of those springs besides someone selling them used?
