Handling wise.. Lower looks good, but it's gotta drive better to justify the change and do the SS's need a add on rear bar like the regular ones?

I was able to pull the rear bar I added to mt 2LT Panel. I know I loved it on there. Will add it to my next HHR what ever it ends up being.

Need it... No

Better with it...Yes

added mine a few months ago and it was a definite improvement over stock (no bar)

just added Pedders springs... handles better yet- less roll and feels more responsive.

IMO it looks much better lower. but still wish it sat 1/2" lower in the rear...

I was riding KSports from Ebay and they rode like lowered stock, but then I went to Airlift for riding lower and sometimes picking it up like an SUV. Fun times!

So an SS has no rear bar.. Wow, didn't know that. 2LT had a rear, the progress bar I have was #2 on the rear. Made the car handle nuetral.. Loved it.

None of the versions come with the bolt on rear bar...don't confuse the it with the bar that runs between the axles which is designed in. MOst any car handles better lowered( exception being a purpose built car which is designed lowered from day 1).Even the new Vettes can make improvements on the suspension. Now, ride 'quality' is what takes the hit here..the blue hairs will have you believe the ride is too hARsh lowered but thats the give and take of lowering. Harsh can be confused with firm which is necessary for a proper handling car. Shocks go a long way here also. A soft car will wollow and wiggle in the corners where firm does not. Note : if you do not drive over the speed limit or live in a town with square streets ( block grids ), its all for show only and ride doesn't matter. But if you have twisties and you like to 'stretch' its legs then its necessary for the full effect! In the end though, its to each his own..................but once you go low, it;ll take serious back pain to drive anything not!

That would be the torsion bar, stock on all HHR models.
