Alot of people here have what you call the slammed kit. The Goldline level kit is new and I don't think anyone has it yet. The latest thread I can find of it being mentioned was from Socal and he is no longer in business: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...light=lowering

The "slammed" kit was first generation Goldlines. I've got a set of 2nd gen GLs on Dory. Here are a couple of pics with both HHRs on 2nd gen GLs. The "level" kit would be the 3rd gen of springs. Don't know if they ever came to fruition though. If you stay with 17s there should be no worries at all. If you go up to 18 you should still be safe but off set and width may play a factor if it will be a problem or not.

Molly-- on the right-- has stock 16" rims, while Dory-- on the left has 17" rims

The ride on 2nd gens isn't much different than stock. I'm still on stock rims and original tread.

I don't know if you can even get the 1st gen Goldlines.

I had them on mine with 16's. I loved them until I put on a custom exhaust with sidepipes. Couldn't even park in my drive after that. Sindy has triple lakes and the 1st gen and she will tell you you need to know your streets VERY well.

If you're going with 17's or 18's, unless you do something that will hang down, lower away!! I don't think the leveling will give it a lowered look though. I personally would go with the 2nd gen. Goldlines.

BTW, an easy way of leveling it is to put a couple hundred pounds of amps/subs in the back. Worked for me!!

Most of the people that I know that have the Pipes have them just for looks.
Very few have them in use in the system.

1st Generation Gold-Lines, Here: Slammed-version!

Stock 17 Wheels

After-Market 17 Wheels:

I love the look, Street Rod'ish and enjoy it this way.

There is a noticeable ride quality change, ESPECIALLY if you carry 4 adults or much weight often. I use for primarily for commutting, and it rides fine with just me, most of the miles is how I use vehicle, without much weight.

I did have some Rear Tire-Fender Rub, more notice-able with the after-market wheels. I had to modify, the inside lip of fender, some have rolled, I cut-back the lip some, Now NO Tire Rub issues.

Hope that helps!!!
