20s can ride very comfortable depending on the road conditions and tire combo

Not the size 20" you can mount on an HHR!

Here's what happens to them on "real" potholes:

If it were me, I'd think twice (or three times!), before going larger than 18's.

(Hey, I'm riding on 17's and loving it....)

Best of luck,

I have a 20x8 on my HHR. Not sure of the offset though. I am running a 235-30-r20 and the sidewalls angle in like /------\ on the wheels. Tucson streets are horrible with potholes and I avoid them and know my way around. Even with the very thin tires and being dropped on Goldlines I ride VERY smooth!

Im looking for !---! for tires on my rims and Im hoping a 235/35/30 will be nice and thick with no angles for a 7.5 inch rim.

I did read a how to on how to use the fender roller you can buy or rent. Looks fairly easily.

They will work as that's the sz. tire I have. But I tried Eibach & it did not drop the HHR at all, so I had to go with a different set up. Was strange it didn't as I have Eibach on my PT Cruiser and it drop it 1.5 in frt. 2.0 rear. Good luck and hope all works out.
