I guess the one point that should be made is that SS does not mean stock. It is designed by the performance division over at GM. I do agree that some agftermarket companies take their time to improve upon original design. But there is also companies who don't. Just make sure you do your research.

I agree Sandman. Not every company making parts has the engineering skill to better GM's engineers. Some make crappy parts, and it's hard to know what's what unless we get feedback from others. Like tires, it is hard to know what works and what doesn't unless someone has been there before you. I know GM engineers have to compromise at times to satisfy diverse drivers, but that doesn't mean every aftermarket supplier can beat them. Also, ANY part design is a compromise of some sort. Personally, driving in the real world, I don't want race parts on my road car. As Woody said, at some point you have to build a cage inside just to stiffen the chassis enough for the suspension to work....and to keep the chassis in one piece. God Bless, Marc
