Wow that is bad, what is worst i am trying to set the bar for the HHR to move away excuse my wording the older stereo type of who owns the car. I have am and have been talking to mayn people to get things for our cars as well as add us to their line up
Well...I may be pushing 50, but I spent 20+ of those years as the managing editor for several automotive publications. My days were spent taking the (then), newest cars straight to aftermarket manufacturers and helping design new mods and add-ons, then writing stories about it. All we did was take stock cars and mod the heck out of them for feature stories.
Just because some people are older, does not mean (at all), that they are less prone to mod. In fact, much of the older generation has the money to slap down for big mods. Several of my customers own 2 Corvettes along with their HHR's!
The problem with all these "supporting vendors please come to our aid" cries is that we know what kind of monetary investment it takes to get things started, and aren't prepared to sit on the stuff so 1 or 2 folks can buy it. Eventually the performance aftermarket will open up for the HHR (and I have spent a lot of time talking to various manufacturers about making products), but for now we'll just have to wait and see...
If you win the lottery, why not start your own HHR aftermarket company up?
At least then you'll see what hurdles have to be jumped.

I am by far not jumping on the elderly (j/k) but what i am saying is that the HHR community mostly wants the HHR to be appearance mods and be very very unique at that. Which makes it so much more harder then body kits etc... i know with time since the arrival of the panel,ss, etc.. hoping our options will open up. But the LSD sale is just to let people know its out there as the supporting vendor call was to show either there was or was not intrest in it. As we saw there is only 2 people at the moment that would be intrested.
Please keep in mind it is much easier to bring a simple appearance mod to market as opposed to a performance mod like an intake, or tune. I'd love to have a turbo on my HHR - but have been bugging STS for their kit (*Still not completed after being shown at SEMA in 2005!), for months. They, like most other manufacturers, state that their simply isn't enough demand currently to warrant the production expense.
While the PT has a long line of aftermarket goodies available, we have to remember that it has been on the market for only 6-years. It takes a good amount of time to increazse the on-road numbers of a vehicle enough to convince manufacturers to produce high-dollar products.
Eventually though...it will happen.
It could happen much faster if I had wads of money in my pockets - so keep on buying those Stubby Antennas' and Smoothie door locks folks!
