Noise in front end on Panel??
Noise in front end on Panel??
6900 miles on new panel and on very slight bumps and road craks Im hearing a clunk or bump from right front. going to try and get it on a lift this weekend. anyone else have any problem like this, anything to look for? will inform more when I get it in the air
Not really sure what it is, but I've noticed it in many front wheel drive vehicles that I've ridden in. Mine does it as well, but only when it's cold and I'm driving slow. It goes away after about a minute.
mine does it... but i thought it was from the left side (as you sit in driver seat) had not put the two together but I didn't notice the thump till the weather turned cold....... I was going to wait till me next service.. at 6K and see if Mr good wrench could locate it.. I think will hit 6k in a week or two... When i first notice it i thought the oogah Horn I had mounted under the hood had come loose... not....
sounds like it could be the steering column issue that alot of us have encountered, dealerships know of this problem and do fix it by installing a new column. I would think they would have fixed this issue during manufacturing by now.
Suspension Clunk/Rattle
If you have FE1 suspension it may be caused by the lower control arm rubber bushing (rear) coming out of its steel sleeve. This will cause the lower control arm to make hard contact with the body structure. If the rubber bushing has moved out of the steel sleeve, the dealer will need to replace the lower control arm bushing.
You can also check for the possibility of the PCM and the TCM rattling/clunking together. If there is contact between these two modules, the dealer should insulate the modules from each other using a small piece of foam. Also check that the retaining clip on the engine coolant surge tank is fully seated. If not, push down to seat it.
Does it do it mainly on turns or just drving down the road? The noises on turns are usually the steering column or the intermediate steering column shafts.
