Question Ordered Goldlines - how much lower on an SS?

Hi all, ordered goldlines for my '07 LS, but ended up trading that in for an '08 SS. Anyway, have goldlines here, and wondering how much lower will the goldlines get me, if anything at all?

As stated, they will definately lower it. But the handling will be compromised. I'm told, the spring rate of the Goldlines are quite a bit lower than the stock SS springs.....front and rear.

My 2 cents......your car....do as you wish.

Personally, I wouldn't mess with the suspension of a perforance car with a "tuned" set up. GM spent a lot of time and money doing things right with the HHR SS, why mess with a good thing?

But, as Snoopy said, your car, do what makes YOU happy!

If you decide not to use them let me know. I have been considering getting some myself for my 09 SS, but if I can get them a little cheaper I wouldn't mind!

If either of you want to sell your SS springs for cheap let me know. I am trying to take down a set.

Thanks

Just finished putting the goldlines on my 07 woody...nice,real nice.But..as stated above, they are not the same rates as the SS..I can feel that while driving( have an 08 SS as well).BIG improvement especially with the rear sway bar installed(progressive). They are not as stiff..but they sit 1 3/4 inch lower then the SS also!Hmmmm..I can't be having that!! Now if someone would make a good spring set for the SS I'd be all over that! Vendors?

If you SS owners let the manufacturers like Eibach know there's a need, they'll make 'em!

The SS suspension is a work of art I'll agree. They put some thought in it..and a note here..the CobaltSS AND HHRSS both run the FE5 package.So..theres some ammo for those with the LT/LS's. And the Cobalts offer steer knuckles and sway bars/bushings/brackets and lower A Frames alot cheaper also stuts and shocks. So it "looks" like a refit is possible, but more research wou;ld be needed.Anyways,as said before,if the vendors would make a shorter comparable spring set up..it'll sell. But for now, nothing looks to be available.
